Pinnacle Design Build Group, Inc. completes failure analysis and remedial repair for 100+ year old retaining wall

CUMMING, GEORGIA (July 1, 2009) – Pinnacle Design Build Group, Inc. recently completed repair of a 100+ year old, stacked stone retaining wall supporting the pavement of a busy road intersection (Palisades Drive and Shoal Creek Road) in Signal Mountain, TN. The wall had experienced erosion and scour of its foundation leading to partial collapse. Pinnacle acted quickly to ascertain the cause of the collapse then designed and constructed a gravity buttress wall in front of the failed structure. Other options considered for the repair would have cost two to three times the Pinnacle solution and required multiple months to construct. Construction of the buttress wall was completed in less than one month. The intersection no longer at risk and is now re-opened to normal traffic.
