Pinnacle
Design/Build has successfully designed and constructed multiple,
specialty earth retention structures in support of major recreation and
resort projects throughout the United States. Our ability to work with
developers and architects to design and construct walls and other
structures that are functional as well as aesthetically fitting has
allowed Pinnacle Design/Build to become one a preferred specialty
subcontractor to service this industry. In addition, we can often make
design recommendations that substantially reduce the cost of earth
retention without sacrificing the architect’s vision for a project.

Brian Head Ski Resort,
Brian Head, UT
PROJECT
FACTS:
Wall Area
= 3,000 SF;
Max Ht
= 14 FT
CHALLENGE:
The ski resort located in southern Utah required new ski
bridge across a busy roadway accessing the ski resort. The
bridge abutments needed to be built quickly during the short
summer construction season.
SOLUTION:
Pinnacle Design/Build designed and constructed two MSE
segmental retaining wall abutments . These walls were then
covered with a natural stone veneer to blend with the rustic
surroundings.
VALUE:
The Pinnacle Design/Build team designed and constructed
both bridge abutment walls in less than two months from
start to finish! This allowed the resort operator to open
the new bridge just in time for ski season with no missed
revenue.

The Retreate at High Pointe,
Savannah, TN
PROJECT
FACTS:
Wall
Area
= 25,000 SF;
Max Ht
= 36 FT
CHALLENGE:
This high end residential development was to be situated on
the steep bluffs above Pickwick Dam in Savannah, Tennessee.
However, the site was too steep and unstable to build
conventional access roads and building lots.
SOLUTION:
Pinnacle Design/Build worked with the developer to design
the most efficient combination of walls and usable building
lots possible. Then we constructed a gently curving,
combination MSE/soil nail wall to create the space required
without detracting from the natural beauty of the
surroundings.
VALUE:
The Pinnacle Design/Build solution was implemented in less
than three months and saved the developer significant money
in terms of wall cost and lot production. Moreover, the
appearance of the finished product fits well with the
surroundings.
