SHERWOOD PROCESSING FACILITY
WEST UNION, WV
CHALLENGE
As part of Markwest Energy Partners’ expansion to this LNG gas processing facility in the Utica Shale Play , an additional electrical substation was required to power this growth. The site’s hilly terrain required a structural retaining wall to support the new electrical substation pad. They needed a high performance retaining wall that could be designed and built quickly in the fast approaching winter weather.
SOLUTION
Pinnacle Design/Build selected the Redi Rock Retaining Wall PC System to construct a 190 foot long, 24 foot high, 3,249 square foot soil reinforced retaining wall.
VALUE
Pinnacle Design/Build designed and constructed the large block retaining wall in less than two weeks, allowing the construction of the hill side pad to be completed on time.
