WALDO RUN SUBSTATION
NEW MILTON, WV
CHALLENGE
The client needed a retaining wall to hold back fill and support transistors for a substation expansion while also allowing for a roadway to be built directly in front of the retaining wall. Additionally, all the work had to take place while the substation remained active and without damaging any of the assets on site.
SOLUTION
Pinnacle Design/Build constructed a small block segmented retaining wall with crushed rock backfill while working around the existing structures.
VALUE
Pinnacle’s design team was able to offer a small block alternative to the original large block design, saving the client money on materials.
